Today In NHL History - Ohlund's Towel

On October 16th in 2008, Mattias Ohlund took a first period powerplay shift at Joe Louis Arena unaware of a towel draped over his right arm.

Circling the ice for 40 seconds before noticing the appendage, Ohlund casually disposed of it behind Roberto Luongo's net to the amusement of players and fans alike. The Canucks beat the Red Wings 4-3 in overtime.

That's today in NHL history.
